Philosophy The 55th Street School provides a loving, home-like atmosphere where children feel secure and confident, and are able to learn in a child-centered environment. Our school promotes curiosity, risk taking, problem solving, and a receptive attitude towards learning. Our program reflects our belief that a positive self-image is essential to a child's ability to learn. We encourage the development of the whole child (his or her physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth) while highlighting the individuality of each child.
